Spanish Film Festival weekend

Hi CinemaAttics,

we hope that the break of almost two weeks we had from activities
has provoked enough expectation for the remaining to come: we face
now the core -and hence the most unmissable section- of the
Spanish Film & Arts Festival Edin 2011 and have prepared a
double bill of events for this weekend.

This Friday the 25th November we’ll return to The Third Door (45-47 Lothian
street, old Medina club) for the Best of the Spanish Animation these days.
Rooted near the birthplace of Norman McLaren, we have curated a session of recently awarded Spanish short films animation -2D, 3D, stop motion, puppet animation!- that will surely recall the child we all have within us…and quite possibly many other feelings!

All films are subtiled in English and, on top of everythinig, we’ll have the tunes of the Akimbo Divine Dj’s and the astonishing photography of Mr Eoin Carey is back!

Venue: The Third Door
Doors open at 7:15pm
Event starts at 8pm
5 pounds entry

Being such an open and entertaining session of films, and although there will be tickets at the door, we strongly reccomend you to book in advance (and pay at the door) at

As for Saturday the 26th November we’ll be continuing the celebration of the only Spanish film festival in Edinburgh with a unique session of Dance & Music short films and much more at the freshest corner in town: Alba Flamenca
(74 East Crosscauseway, EH8 9HQ).

We’ll open up the night with the neverending talent of Liam Baker who will offer a live selection of his latest tunes.
Then, the combination of music and the plastic arts of the films we have prepared represents a moving experience that no art lovers should miss if they’re aiming total empathy with the culture they pursue.

Finally, we’ll close the block of dance&music films with masterpieces of geniuses of the like of Juan Pablo Etcheverry, (the Oscar 2011 Nominated !) Sam Ortí or the unique puppet animators Anna Solanas & Mark Ribas.

There will be unbeatable deal on tapas, Estrella Damm beer, all films are subtiled in English of course, and Mr Eoin Carey will continue his superb photographic coverage of the festival.

Venue: Alba Flamenca
Doors fully open before the event starts.
Event starts at 8pm
4 pounds entry.

Due to limited entrance, and although there will be tickets at
the door, we strongly reccomend you to book in advance (and pay at the door) at
