Opening session: Spanish Film and Arts Festival 2011

Señoras and caballeros,

CinemaAttic’s 3rd Spanish Film & Arts Festival opens up this Friday the 4th of November with a new understanding of beauty…plus a peek at diversity and expressiveness.

If you still think that Spanishness is an epitome of the obsolete just come and approach the films we curated for Inspace (just opposite Edinburgh’s mosque if you get lost), and let us proof you wrong. Delicately shot, profoundly moving and globally successful, the actual Spanish cinema is nothing less than a very powerful new wave.

Unseen in the UK, this selection includes the last proposal of internationally acclaimed Irene Zoé Alameda, 2010 gems of the consistent Basque Film Archive and even a 2011 BAFTA winner.
Accompanying the selection of films there will be Estrella Damm beer available, the sheer eye of Eoin Carey photography, the incorruptible tunes of the Akimbo Divine Dj’s and Liam Baker to open the night!

And YES: the films are all subtitled in English…

4th November 2011 at Inspace, Edinburgh.
Doors open at 7:15pm.
Event starts at 8pm
5 pounds entry.

There will be tickets available on the door but since there’s a potential number of late comers (yeah, most of them spaniards probably!) we strongly reccommend to pre-book your tickets in advance at
